V-Ray crossgrade for Softimage users

Chaos Group announces free crossgrades for existing V-Ray for Softimage users.

V-Ray for Softimage users are probably wondering what will happen to their licenses now that Autodesk is discontinuing the package. Chaos Group's policy is as follows:

¨“Users who purchased a V-Ray for Softimage commercial license until March 6th, 2014 will be offered a free crossgrade to V-Ray 3.0 for 3ds Max or V-Ray 3.0 for Maya, once it ships. Users who crossgrade a V-Ray for Softimage license will receive 1 V-Ray 3.0 Workstation license and 5 Render Node licenses. Moreover, artists will be able to use V-Ray for Softimage concurrently with V-Ray 3.0 for 3ds Max or V-Ray 3.0 for Maya for six months after the crossgrade.

Please note that commercial V-Ray for Softimage licenses purchased after March 6th, 2014 will not be eligible for a free crossgrade.

Which basically means: if you have a V-Ray for Softimage license at the moment, you can take it with you to whichever package you decide to migrate to under Autodesk's free migration program. However, if you don't have a V-Ray for Softimage license, but have been considering getting one, it will NOT be crossgraded for free.
