I wanted to see if I could create some kind of old plastic material with VRay and I'm quite pleased with the results right now.
I don't remember the original rendertime (1600x1200) but a 800x600 render took 9:57

Q: That's really nice. So how about an explanation or at least a rundown on the techniques used? That guy looks so real that it's kinda creepy~;)
A: More or less, it's 'just' mapped glossy reflections. I used a scratchmap (Pewter.gif/.tga/.jpg or any other incarnation of that image) and a smudgemap (basically just a bunch of fingerprints).
Other than that, i made sure that the glossy reflections where pretty close to 0,0 so i wouldnt get any metallic reflections... The 'hair', 'eyes', 'pupils', 'teeth' and 'skin' are just colered variations of eachother.
Pretty easy really, but it required a lot of tweaking.
