Topic: ClrThrshld & NrmlThrshld: Herding cattle isn't easy!

Can someone give me a better explanation of what Clr threshold and Nrm threshold is ? All I know is that reduce these values will increase the rendering time. I need a better explanation of what these will do in terms of image quality vs. rendering time. I would like to know what the individual settings are:
Clr threshold
Nrm threshold
Interpolation type
and what is Pixel meaning in VRAY

A: I may be corrected, but here goes. You know when you collect the samples? You set your min setting to -5 and your max to -2? That gives you 4 passes right? Each one gets smaller. You know how in some areas, after it has done the first pass, it will do the second pass quickly and the area which it is covering is looking gray, then slow down a lot when it gets near corners or curvy areas? That is because it is ignoring the samples in that area and using the samples from the previous pass for that area. The reason it ignores them there is that the geometry is flat and it doesn't need to collect them there, and it will simply use the less detailed large sample from the last pass. The threshold is actually the value which measures the cut off point when it uses the new sample or the sample from the previous pass. The reason it increases your rendering time is because it collects more samples in areas that don't really need it. Why would you change it? In case you are not getting good detail under certain areas or around curvy surfaces, even if your min/max are high enough. OR, if you have a simple scene with less areas like that, you can decrease the value and get faster rendering time. However, if you did a rendering with -3 and -3,... that value would not do anything, since it is only one pass.
