Topic: Speed Tweaks 101: Hopefully the first of many:)

I think this is written in the documentation, but I thought I should mention it nevertheless: you can get a few percent of speed-up if you set the value of "Face/level coef." (in the System roll-up) below its default value of 2.0 - for example to 1.0 or even 0.5. While this will take more memory for the raytrace acceleration structure, it will also make VRay noticeably faster.
Follow-ups
Q: I've noticed a speed increase on large stills when you change the bucket size to 128. Things seems to move along better with stills in the 3k range. Can anyone confirm this?
A: This is true, each bucket needs some setup time, and an overlapping area between buckets also needs to be rendered to avoid abrupt changes on the bucket border. Search the forum for Vlado's explanation, which probably is a lot better than mine.
