Topic: Unchecking Generate Recieve GI

Ok, maybe I am missing out on something here, but if I check exclude on both generate and recieve GI, then the object should not be generating "shadows" or?
In the included picture the black sphere has the GI stuff unchecked, so it doesnt recive any GI.
But it is generating since it has shadows underneath it isnt it?
And the unchecking goes for selfillumiating stuff too...
The selfill. sphere hve also all the Gi stuff unchecked, should it be generating illumination then?
