Topic: Black glass hints: Which way did that color go?

Ive seen alot of questions about glass getting too dark. The general answer to this usually is to use vraymaps instead and fake the effect by changing the exit color to non black. This does not give a very good result i think so heres another way:
The vraymaterial has slots for max depth for reflections and refractions. this defaults to 5 which is way too low for any object more compex than a solid sphere (when it runs out of traces it returns black). So, increasing this value will give very nice glass with the vraymaterial without increasing rendertime too much.
This image show the default value (top left), increased to 20 for both glass and liquid (top right) and with caustics added (middle).
the caustics are a little overdone but they give the glass an even batter look.
Follow-ups
Comment: As of VRay 1.09.02v the material has added the exit color option.
