Topic: How many licenses do I need to buy to use network rendering?
posted by Torgeir Holm
archived on 6.10.2004
You only need one VRay license.
This includes:- 1 workstation license (for creating your scene in max)
- 10 Distributed Rendering (DR) licenses (for rendering large stills or precalculating an irradiance map across several computers)
- Unlimited network rendering licenses using Backburner2 in 3ds max (for rendering animations)
However, each artist working with the VRay user interface requires a full license. So if you have, for example, four 3D artists, you still need to buy four licenses if all of them are going to be using VRay at the same time.
